The challenge

Create a brand and visual identity that resonates with all Liverpuddlians. How do you speak to all local students in the Liverpool City Region, regardless of the University and programme? How do you convince local SMEs to hire locally? The LCR Grad team needed a brand and visual identity that locals would recognise and that spoke to the community building the programme seeks to achieve.

How we helped

By taking inspiration from the pan Liverpool City Regions, visual devices emerge that speak directly to the local community. When combined, a sense of community and togetherness reflects the mission of the LCR Grad Scheme.


This mission was emulated by the colour way for the LCR Grad Scheme. Drawing on the red and blue and bringing them together in a fresh modern way. We worked collaboratively with the LCR Grad team to create an identity that spoke to both their target audience’s and communicated the spirit of the pioneering community the scheme will create.

‘Aurora recently supported us as we worked to pull together a logo and some visuals brand identity for our LCR Grad Scheme Project. The team went above and beyond, really getting to grips with the ethos of our Project and listening to what we wanted, all within a really tight timeframe. The design process was smooth, the team were receptive to our ideas but crucially, offered invaluable advice and opinions to shape our own ideas around our brand identity. The end product does exactly what we asked for – represents the Liverpool City Region in an innovative way, without the ‘usual’ Liver Bird or Cathedral motifs!
